Could this first poll offer Fade... some credence there?

This one taken last month swings pretty much back to your position.

Poll: Half say gun laws are about right
September 14, 2015, 09:41 am .. bits ..

In the new poll released Monday, 23 percent of voters say new gun control laws targeted toward preventing people with mental health issues from purchasing guns
would be “extremely likely” to work. Twenty-one percent said they would be “very likely” to work, 31 percent “somewhat likely” and 25 percent “not at all likely.”

Slightly fewer voters think new gun laws with comprehensive background checks would prevent convicted criminals from buying
guns, with 21 percent saying it would be “extremely likely” to work. Thirty-five percent said it is “not at all likely” to be effective.

I haven't a clue as to how any of the questions were phrased .. i mean, 'in favor of, or not' and
'likelihood of working, or not' type questions would probably get different results, am guessing.

.. lol .. no doubt you would have a much better idea of the position on any questions re the gun debate
than i'd have .. and hmm, yup, re the teabagger boards, i reckon you would pushing high figures there ..

.. just wondered .. :)
