An observation - in a places, as per definition of double blinded study says that 'neither the participants nor the researcher know which participant belongs to which group - control or test group - the assignment is random and unknown to them. This is called binding (double)
Only some places - it says blinding can be applied to - participating subjects, researchers (required) and technicians and funders.
So officially the double blinding does not mean that CTIX as funder of the study is also blinded - they may actually get some additional information without breaking the rule or coming out of blinding.
May be I am reading wrong but definition of double blinding seems clear.
