Having a bit of a conflict here with Stony Brook not yet releasing any of the promotional data generated by Supima last week.

They've been notified, and they've acknowledged receipt. Still supportive of the Board and Staff at Stony Brook. And I realize a lot of the data has to be vetted. Still a little frustrated about lack of information on the cotton harvest season and where we stand.

Phoenix – The Supima Association of America, which represents U.S. growers of long-staple Pima cotton, plans to launch a program to identify and report textiles manufacturers that “knowingly and purposely” blend American Pima with other cottons.

“For years now, some spinners have confided to Supima that they suspect competitors of blending less expensive Upland cottons in yarns for programs that were labeled as Pima and even some labeled as Supima,”............Supima will also test products labeled as “Pima” and “Egyptian” to ensure they comply with the Federal Trade Commission’s Textile Fiber Products Identification Act (Textile Act). “Deception of fiber content on the product or label has severe consequences from the Federal Trade Commission and they will aggressively investigate these matters,” according to Curlee.

The tracking is made possible through a partnership with Applied DNA Sciences, which has developed a technology to identify the DNA of Supima cotton as distinguished from Upland cottons.......
