I don't see anything like a slight counter trend, unless my time period is wrong, just a guess from the time of your posting the puts sale.
And I suggest you look at a LOT of reversals from a steep dive as was the case with AMZN. I think you will find VERY FEW that actually do make such a quick reversal that you fear. Keep track for a while. Or just look at several similar charts today. It's the data. The data, the data, the data.
