The Million-Channel Universe
Keith Dressel, April 10, 2006 - 8:55am
First AM radio gave way to FM. Then broadcast rolled over for cable and satellite. That same technology is now creating a world of unlimited media. This enthusiasm is what drive Keith Dressel to start what he now calls "Adrenaline Nation TV," a channel dedicated to young males, one of the most coveted advertising audiences in the business for their tastes in gadgets, toys and other expensive diversions. Adrenaline Nation TV is being syndicated to cable systems around the country, though it has yet to nail down any specific agreements.
Adrenaline is taking on MTV by promising to air music videos of edgy, independent artists as well as mainstream artists that are still considered acceptable by his audience. But the channel will go far more deeply into the culture than the various MTV channels do. Adrenaline will have shows showcasing music producers working on albums, have an Top 20 countdown of independent rock and spotlights on up-and-coming indie rock bands.
