Comb, AMD sold 10% of float worth of convertibles last year. Don't you think IBM got private placement?

What's your personal opinion about SOI - was it a mistake? Several people expressed opinions, mostly negative.

I think if 2 Ghz is ready than AMD is only 200 Mhz behind bulk. It's not a big deal in the long run. I think they are disappointed, but not discouraged.

Is 90 nm on bulk especially thermally challenging? Will SOI shine there? I understand that to bring SOI to 90 they need to play with it on 130 nm. The Barton reversal happened pretty fast. If they did not reverse Opteron that means things are not that bad.
