I'm right there with ya...but, ya can't get a regular drivers license without taking a test, so you shouldn't be able to get a motorcycle endorsement without one either. Yes..in most states there IS a special written test for bikes, but, a mandatory safety class should be involved.

My insurance co (GMAC) gives me a NICE discount because I've take the basic MSF as well as the Advanced one. And any 'track day' certified training classes count as well. They even cover full replacement for any protective gear (I ride an FJR1300 these days).
