Granted I am not the expert some here are on Greece/its economy, but I see no way around their problem without austerity - how much and for how long is for others to decide.
Greece owes the ECB 3.5 euros, due July 20, which is probably unrealistic to believe they can meet that obligation.

Yesterday's vote in Greece was a rejection of austerity and perhaps Greece's PM should have called for this vote weeks ago so everyone would know how Greek citizens feel, and meaningful negotiations could have taken place - as it stands, it seems the last few weeks of "negotiations" have been a huge waste of time and just pushed Greece's economy closer to a breaking point.

In a joint presser minutes ago with Germany's Angela Merkel and France's President Francoise Hollande, Merkel said the proposal put forth last week was "extremely generous" and "the prerequisite for new negotiations is not there yet".
A Grexit may yet happen and although it would be painful, in the long run it may be best for Greece to figure out their economy on their own - after all, based on yesterday's vote Greek people said they do not want what the EU has offered.
