CPX-351, Celator’s lead combination product candidate, is currently in a Phase 3 registration study in patients with secondary acute myeloid leukemia (AML).

CPX-351 (cytarabine:daunorubicin) Liposome for Injection
CPX-351 is a liposomal formulation of a synergistic 5:1 molar ratio of cytarabine and daunorubicin, two agents commonly used to treat blood cancers, particularly AML. The “7+3” combination regimen of cytarabine and daunorubicin is the current standard of care for AML.

Research with cancer cell lines has shown that cytarabine:daunorubicin administered in a 5:1 ratio delivers optimal anti-cancer activity, while this combination of chemotherapeutic drugs delivered in other ratios can be antagonistic.
