The irony in the entire discussion is the ongoing claims made about global warming while any attempt to alter our national policy to increase nuclear power usage is soundly renounced. We have wind power initiatives that are opposed by the same individuals who excoriate the current energy policy for depending too much on exploration and development of oil and NG.
NIMBY is the only prevailing policy in the end. If those politicians who were truly interested in limiting the greenhouse gases want a solution, they should push for much higher energy taxes. Instead they complain about the high price of gasoline. This is the same crowd that usually compares our policy on an issue to the "rest of the world". Funny, they don't crow about the "progressive" policy in europe when the price of gasoline is discussed.
