(edit) The reasons are manifold. If you do not need the capability, I suspect that many very good 32 bit computers will become bargains fairly soon after the introduction of Athlon64. Wait, it will be much more fun than jumping in and wishing that you had not.

I am not sure just what eats at the "genius", but he appears to have issues and an agenda. He really does still belong at the Ford Motor Company. Listening to him might well bring regrets. Avoid buying an "Edsel"; Waiting at a time of great changes is virtually always very good advice.
