Building Upon Existing Customer Relationships
POMONA, CA--(MARKET WIRE)--May 31, 2006 -- General Environmental Management, Inc. ("GEM") (OTC BB:GEVM.OB - News), a leading environmental and waste remediation company, today announced it has been awarded a subcontract from Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc. (Jacobs) valued at $500,000 for the period of May through August 2006.
The contract will run from May through August 2006 and will include the on-site management, transportation and disposal of contaminated soil from a remote location on Kodiak Island. This contract is an addition to the remediation projects GEM (and one of its acquired companies) has performed in Alaska since 2001. These previously awarded contracts, also by Jacobs, included the removal of over 32,000 tons of contaminated soil and wastes.
"One of GEM's differentiators is our extensive, integrated product platform backed by our excellent customer service, which fortifies and oftentimes expands our customer relationships," stated John Beale, vice president of sales for GEM. "This recent contract award represents our third year working in Alaska as GEM, building our presence in the region. GEM is well suited to provide the necessary waste management services and address the logistical challenges presented by remote sites such as Kodiak, and we anticipate we will secure additional contracts for work in Alaska in 2006."
