GTEC - /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ --
Whistler Investments, Inc (OTCBB:WISV) is pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement to acquire 100% of the issued and outstanding shares of Water Solutions Inc, (WSI). A Nevada Corporation. www.watersolutionsinc.com
WSI operates a resource center in Vancouver, staffed with chemical engineers involved in process design, research and development and licensing activities. The company developed MicroWeb Solutions, a unique water and wastewater treatment process technology, in collaboration with the University of British Columbia and grants from the National Research Council of Canada. Driven by the world's first microencapsulant, PolyWebP30 (P30), its process technology promises up to 30% reduction in capital and operating costs for both onsite and municipal wastewater treatment plants. This groundbreaking technology was showcased at the APEC Technology Mart in Shanghai in September of 2001.
Simply put; how the product works?
When contaminated water (such as pulp and paper or chemical manufacturers effluent as well as residential wastewater) is processed with P30 and a conditioner, it will separate a higher level of impurities from the water in a shorter period of time than other products currently available. Using P30 allows significant reductions in plant size due to faster processing times. The water without any further treatment can be reused for irrigation. If put through a disinfectant process the water becomes consumable. The waste product can be treated with enzymes and used as fertilizer.
Market size
The UN World Water assessment program estimates costs in the one trillion range to deal with the world's water pollution problems over the next decade.
Opportunities abound
China
The company has built a wastewater treatment plant for a pulp and paper mill in the province of Guanxi. The government officials and the plants technical director were very impressed that they were for the first time able to meet the national discharge standards for their very-difficult- to- treat effluent. The company has also entered into an agreement with the ShaoYang Water Authority to build to build a US$24 million municipal wastewater treatment plan using Micro Web solutions technology at Yangxiqiao, Shao Yang City, Hunan, China.
WSI has just completed an agreement with Genesis Technology Group(OTCBB:GTEC), a business development firm that fosters bilateral commerce between companies in North America and Europe with those in China. We believe this will accelerate the exposure of our superior products and services into the vast Chinese market.
Brazil
The company is in the final stages of negotiation with Suall, one of the largest suppliers of wastewater treatment products with annual sales of over twelve thousand tons. This could result in significant product sales for our company.
