You lose only if yu sell.100% not true .Try calling your broker and borrowing against the 50k.Tell him you haven't sold so......the fact is if you kept holding you kept losing. Now for all you newbies out their...wait and hope are two investment strategy's that will cost you all of your money learning.Wait and hope is for buying a lotto ticket..how many of you buy a 50k lotto ticket? Nobody , same reason you should never put 50k into a crappy penny stock with story of gold or whatever snake oil is hot in the market at that time.
