Interesting- gvt profited more from Freddie. That link shows fmcc gave gvt a slightly larger profit from the bailout/investment than fnma did. I find that interesting and I don't know why, off hand, it is so.
But even more interesting is the reminder in that link that the gvt lost 11 billion via its bailout of GM. Yet notice how the GM bailout is/was hailed by gvt as the best and smartest thing mankind ever came up with, and they tell us we profited from it too. And the gvt has continually demonized the GSEs despite the huge profits it earned from them.
