Former Alice in Chains bassist Mike Starr is arrested in Seattle for "investigation of property destruction and theft” after allegedly pulling a hood ornament off a car. Starr left A.I.C. in 1993. 2005

Nickelback nabs Group of the Year and Rock Album of the Year honors at the Juno Awards. Neil Young is also a two time winner earning the Adult Alternative Album of the Year honor for "Prairie Wind," and the Producer of the Year trophy for his work on "The Painter," a song on the CD. And finally, Bryan Adams is inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. "Canada is a great place to come from," says Adams. The Juno Awards are the Canadian version of the Grammys. 2006

U2's Bono charges Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi with exploiting the singer’s image to win support for his re-election campaign. In an editorial that appears in Italy's Corriere della Sera newspaper, Bono takes exception to his picture being used in a brochure promoting Berlusconi's work on behalf of the world's poorest countries. Bono claims Italy is not doing its share to aid the Third World. 2006

“Dani California,” the first single from the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ ninth studio album, “Stadium Arcadium,” makes its radio premiere when KTBZ’s (Houston) Don Jantzen plays the song continuously for his three hour show. The single peaks at #6 on the Billboard Hot 100. 2006

"Because Of The Times," the third studio album from the Kings Of Leon, is out. "These songs are so much bigger, this band is so much better," says lead singer Caleb Followill. He adds that the album's title can be taken one of two ways. If an album does well it's "Because Of The Times" or if it bombs, it's "Because Of The Times." The set features the single "On Call." 2007

Beady Eye, Paul Weller and Primal Scream give a benefit concert at the Brixton O2 Academy in London for victims of the 3/11/11 Japanese earthquake/tsunami. Proceeds go to the British Red Cross Japan Tsunami Appeal. 2011

Jon Bon Jovi and his wife Dorothea are the victims of a robbery at their New Jersey home. The thief, later apprehended, reportedly makes off with over $100,000 worth of Dorothea's jewelry. 2011

Police in Manchester begin recording attacks on Goths, Emos and Punks as hate crimes following a campaign by the Sophie Lancaster Foundation. Lancaster was murdered in ‘07 at the age of 20 because she and her boyfriend were wearing Goth clothing. 2013
