Difference between excitement and manipulation

Someone can say "hey, XXX stock is going up! yes" when it is indeed going up. I have no problem with that. If they say it's going up when it's not going up to try and get it to go up, that's another story. If they post positive honest news nad it goes up, fine with me. If they post a lie or fake rumor with the intention of it going up and it goes up, manipulation.

There is a fine line between investor excitement and manipulation. I think the real key would be the intention of the poster. joelong tried for the last year and a half to get umcc up with tons of lying positive posts. He couldn't get it up at all. He is then only guilty of attempted stock manipulation. Of course maybe umcc stock would have dropped harder without his "UMCC is haivng a great year!" posts. We'll never know.

Did I mention that umcc just filed for bankruptcy?
