The basic point that it shows, that the AOT works to suppress turbulence perpendicular to flow, seems to me simply amazing and incredible. It would add a whole other aspect to the revolutionary nature of this technology and make the AOT that much more significant.

However, my question or remark is simply this: the discussion in that paper is entirely in reference to the tests on RMOTC and at Daqing in China. I don't believe either of those was at the scale of the 36'' Keystone that TCPL recently finished testing.

I am quite sure Tao verified his theory worked on Keystone, but could not detail it due to the NDA. This is why the figures are from Daqing and RMOTC.
Tao and team have physically been to the keystone site.
Let us not forget also that between Daqing and now, they have "photographed" the molecules chains and understood the physics.
Maybe also he wanted to go back as far as possible in time to set precedence for a scientific discovery.
It seems now reasonably logical that a long chain of molecule travels more easily in the direction of the pipe and less easily across the section. The increase of viscosity and decrease of turbulence are thus the mirror images of the same phenomenon (chains).
