Today was a huge milestone for the company, at least 1 year in the making. One of the forays of this type of biotech is Stem Cell research. After todays news, the WHOLE world knows that WaferGen can isolate one or many iindividual cells for diagnostics. This seems to include the DNA blueprint of the cell, as well.
As a natural progression, this ability to extract single cells, check for disease, and, to identify the dna blueprint of the cell, opens the door to healthy cell replication. Healthy individual cells, from any part of an individual's body, can be extracted, tested for desease, and, replicated. Or, one cell could be extracted from another part of an individual, for an organ (as an example), and, it's dna sequencing could be modified to match that of the unhealthy organ cell (minus the desease of course).
I dont know the exect details of how this actually works. Just giving my impression of how it could work. But, to reiterate, today's news means they are ONE step closer to be ABLE to do something like that.
IF they DID advance the stem cell capabilities, I wonder what this stock would be worth?
