The feature works just fine without the number listed.
Hub would lose no value. So how does it hurt?

If one reads a post and thinks hey I want to see what else they have to say they will mark them.

But lets say they read a post and are undecided to mark them or not?

They then see number of marks thus marks making up their mind for them.

The so called guru now has another sheep in the fold because when it was originally set up it was manipulated through private chat rooms etc.

It's your ball field. I realize that.

But every once in a while cutting the grass improves the over all performance of the playing field.
