Spam lovers rejoice! Hormel Foods Corp. (HRL:NYSE) reported a 7 percent increase in earnings for its second fiscal quarter. Net income was US$38.9 million, or 28 cents per share, up from US$36.3 million (26 cents per share) a year ago. The purchase of Turkey Store Co. gave Hormel an 18.5 percent stake in the U.S turkey market and helped offset slowing in sales of grocery products, like mouth-watering Spam and campfire must-have, Hormel chili.
