One of the most intense moments of my life, was in S. Korea.

I worked in protocol for a 3 star general. The base was shared by the Korean Air Force, and the president of S. Korea was coming for a visit. The general's driver was civilian, and didn't have enough security clearance, so I got to drive my 3 star to the flight line, to pick up the US Korean forces commander, who was a 4 star general.

It went smooth and easy, I drove my general to the flight line, picked up the 4 star and dropped them off at the headquarters. They told me where to park, and as soon as I did? About 8 black cars came flying in and surrounded me. It was the Korean secret service, and they made sure I didn't do anything funny. It scared the crap out of me, I smoked at the time, and since I had American cigarettes and posed no threat, they loosened up. smile It was a bit nerve racking though, they watched my every move.
