I have heard, from what I consider to be a very reliable source, (don't ask) to believe the warrant served on our minnow is an outgrowth of the Congressmen Jefferson investigation.
Indictments are being sought (Jefferson) and this is, of course, a Republican vs Democrat game that is bound to continue to get heated up in the coming months. Since Jeffersons involvement is thru his African dealings....and ERHC is African related, ERHC is being looked at if for no other reason its proximity to the Jefferson action. There is little liklihood that the SEC is involved and also little liklihood that the search warrant was a result of Sao Tomes Attorney Generals request for investigation.
There are huge, huge, stakes involved in the Jefferson investigation because among other things, he is the most visible Democrat with criminal problems--- and hurts the Democratic mantra for the upcoming elections that the Republicans are the only ones corrupt.
It does not appear that ERHC has had any dealings with Jefferson but "perhaps" he owned shares of ERHC (only a guess on my part). An investigation of this sort makes or breaks prosecutors so we are likely to hear more on this issue in the future.
I was pleased to hear this information and I find it to be credible.
Off to a 90'th birthday party for my grandmother today.....hoping ERHC comes thru before my 90'th :o)
