The fact that a company has consistently missed its own schedules by not merely months but years is excellent reason for believing it will continue to under deliver.
The race is 2000 miles. The drivers told us they would drive for 10 hours a day, at an average speed of 80 mph. We calculate that they should be done in 25 hours of driving, or 2.5 days. A month later they have gone only 200 miles, their car has broken down, and they are wondering why we are complaining about their performance.
The only things that are certain to be on schedule and delivered in a timely fashion are the paychecks to the officers of the company.
