I have a lot of respect for that animal. I used to play a lot of backgammon in NYC with some math major buddies in the '70s. So, feeling confidence about my understanding the odds and the use of the doubling cube, I wandered into a backgammon parlor one time with a buddy. He and I lost several figurative shirtsleeves in our first games. I left and never went back. If everyone in the stock markets were as smart as those backgammon players (and if the odds were always house odds), I'd probably keep all my funds in a bank!
