Another place we're on the same wavelenth is on valuations. Lately I may not have sounded like an IDIX long , but I am since $12 , which I thought was an incredible bargain. Things have gotten incredibler since then , unfortunately. I think the HBV program will support higher prices before too long and don't think NM-283 is dead meat, by any means. Also , I don't think NVS got where it is today by throwing money down the tubes. I'm neither long nor short VRTX because I have a hard time placing a value on their pipeline , but I don't see VRTX shares as cheap , for sure.

I think mean viral load reduction may be as good a metric as any. Early predictors of SVR in HCV are hard to come by , probably because of the many immune evasion and resistance mechanisms used by HCV. Maybe some combo of biomarkers in addition to viral load measurements will better predict response in the future.
