From same article:
Today, comic books are courting mainstream advertisers. Boomers well remember when the back pages pitched largely oddball products, from kits for raising sea monkeys to Charles Atlas instruction books for bodybuilders; that era is over. Red Giant is counting on mainstream advertisers to make their free comics a success.
The new line - dubbed "Giant-Size" - will feature four different titles, each with two stories. The premiere issue will feature a series titled Magika, the story of a young boy's journey to a magical realm. It's written by Juaire and longtime comic book scribe David Lawrence, but it's based on an animated film originally released in the Philippines by Cutting Edge productions, and since re-dubbed in English.
Interesting little piece of history from our beloved MAGIKA.. click click click!
