Yes, certainly. So then why does the United States come out as being so mistrusted in worldwide polls? Just my opinion but I believe this has something to do with our being dominant superpower at the moment. Our dominant position implies an offensive stance putting adversaries in a defensive position. Thus China and Russia are many times truly defending their sovereignty but are also seen as defending themselves even when they take an aggressive initiative in light of the status quo.

In addition I don’t think we have handled our sole superpower status well at all.
