Duck and cover...

Looks like the idiots are lining up to buy the book. My prayers are with the nation.

RODHAM ALL THE RAGE AS HER LIFE BECOMES AN OPEN BOOK
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

June 9, 2003 -- "Hill-apalooza" is on!

From a lovefest at the Puerto Rican Day Parade yesterday to a crowded Upper West Side Barnes & Noble last night, to an even-more-crowded Midtown book-signing today, to more TV interviews in the coming days, this is the week that Hillary Rodham Clinton turns her topsy-turvy personal and political life into a public phenomenon.

This morning, bookstores around the country will finally take the locks off their inventories of the former first lady's 582-page memoir, "Living History," which gives a candid look at Clinton's fractious life with Bill Clinton - before, during and after the White House.

The main event is Sen. Clinton's first book-signing this morning at the Barnes & Noble at Fifth Avenue and 48th Street, where tight security and large crowds are expected.

Store managers will distribute concert-style wristbands to the first 250 people to assure they get pre-signed copies of the book during Hillary's one-hour appearance.

After today's event, Sen. Clinton will head to Washington, where two other signings are scheduled.

Last night, about 100 people lined up outside a Barnes & Noble near Lincoln Center, which stayed open past midnight to satisfy her fans.

"Hillary Clinton is a phenomenal woman of her time - a first lady who didn't just bake cookies," said customer Paula Mallino.
