SM, Did you read the commentary? I think it is very believeable. Back in 1987 if I told some one that the Nasdaq was going over 5000 by the year 2000 they would have labeled me crazy. The boomers gave us the biggest boom ever. Write now we have a generation of 49 mil that is retiring and being funded by a generation of 80 mil. When the boomers retire they will be supported from contributions of just 70 mil citizens. Currently the US has that obligation to fund the retirement of the boomers. That's money owed and it's not there. It's very reasonable for me to believe that the US owes more than it could possibly expect the citizenry to provide at a future date. With high debts and little hope for repayment from sufficient revenue streams, the US is technically insolvent. The boomers that gave us the biggest boom will also give us the biggest bust.
