mlsoft agree on economic "fixes" not working and frankly i feel if the "Austrian" approach had been allowed to work we'd have been at least at the bottom now, on our way to health long term. What the fed is doing as you know so well and have said is creating so many other imbalances, distortions (and bubbles) down the road (sooner than later i think) We are making a bigger, more unsolvable, MORE RISKY mess than what we would have had. Here in NJ, our "friend" JPM is actually running ads for people to refinance, cash out and use the $ to buy stocks!..i kid you not!! I have several less savvy friends still taking equity out of their homes to "buy" stuff.(hot tubs, decks, cars ,you know)
I also do not like the tax package overall, and probably wouldn't have liked the dems version if they were in charge either. I would have liked the MIDDLE class (me) to get something, real, finally, once in my lifetime. I also thought the repub idea that was floated early, but not implented WAS great..to allow larger tax lossess on stocks..perhaps it could have been an optional thing like sale of house one time or over a limited number of years and phased out. (to lessen the loss of gov revenues) THAT idea i feel would have would have helped MANY>and i think have helped Bush.
Perhaps since you and i agree more or less on the markets, trading and economy but disagree more or less on politics, we should start a tv show ala cramer and kudlow or James Carville and Mary Mattlan(sp)(talk about 2 wierd people)..what species and planet is Carville from!(or is he the first lifelike android!)
