Although when you read the Federalist Papers and other works of the founding fathers (sexist??), you would have to qualify the premise of "equality and freedom for all", I agree with the gist of the above. They would be shocked and sickened by the sheer scope of what our government now does on a daily basis that was never contemplated in the constitution, and the amount of local discretion and responsibility that was supposed to be reserved to the states but now is administered by the Federal government.

They would also be shocked at the usurpation and misuse of legislative authority by the activist judiciary which seeks to make law rather than interpret law. They would be especially shocked at the the way we tax our citizens and waste taxpayer money and finally they would be nauseated at the moral disintegration of our society.
