A footnote to the story:

Last night this kid about 10 years old comes to the door with his little sister for trick or treat. The kid asks me if I had lost an SD card. The first thing that pops into my head was that old phone, because when I had found it in the road the SD card was gone and that had perplexed me as it couldn't have been there for more than 10 or 15 minutes before I realized it and went back and found it. During that time someone took the back cover off, took the battery out, removed the card, put it all back together and left it laying in the road.

He says he looked at the pictures and by the fence, trees and angle to the water tower in town deduced that it must be my SD card. (Angle to the water tower... LOL, kid will make a good detective someday!) I could have pointed out the fact that the phone was laying in the road directly opposite the porch we were standing on at that moment, but I was just glad to have it back. There are a lot of irreplaceable pictures and a couple hundred .mp3 files on the drive.

Oh, and yeah, I've already made another back-up of that drive.
