Hope shines eternal, that's great news! The post brought to mind Netflix's The Network,
a documentary about the building of a radio, then a tv station ToloTv, in Afghanistan ..

Tolo TV (Persian: ????? - "Sunrise") is a commercial television station operating in Afghanistan. Launched in October 2004 by MOBY Group, it became one of the first commercial stations in the country and laid the foundation for an accessible media outlet by offering a large library of shows. It is currently Afghanistan's most popular television channel.

Tolo TV was first launched in Kabul but as of November 2007, has broadcasts in 14 cities in Afghanistan on free-to-air and throughout the region by satellite. Its sister channels are: TOLOnews and Lemar TV.

TOLO TV was the subject of documentary film in 2012 called The Network, by Eva Orner. The film saw limited international release in 2013

.. the doco was interesting, it gives a picture of media influence on cultural change, hard work, hope, optimism, escape and harsh reality for females
still in so much of Afghanistan .. and yes, some are pessimistic that positive change could evaporate again when the US and others have gone ..

It was Plato who said, “He, O men, is the wisest, who like Socrates, knows that his wisdom is in truth worth nothing”
