I have ran some of the older versions using NYSI and SP500. The average returns were about 18-20% instead of in the 40's.

I don't really have the time to do it right now. I think you would find lesser returns using anything other than the NDX100.

I have plugged in the NDX Comp before instead of the NDX100 and didn't like the results either, but I didn't tinker with it very long.
