Taking this as the starting point into speculation-land, my take is that it is also possible that OEMs who have some interest in PR3D will contract for parts to be made by Sigma, despite the EOM having the capacity to make the part independently. Crazy thought? Maybe, but a big part of the incentive for the use of PR3D is also the efficiency. MC and VD have repeatedly emphasized that PR3D can speed up production time by a factor of ~25%. Nice statement, however if I were in charge of a buying decision to plunk down the $ and sign an ongoing contract for handing over periodic payments for use of PR3D it would be very nice to have Sigma demonstrate the time savings by printing up a part or three and observing the print. Look at the object. IF PR3D makes good on the claim of 25% faster, then each of my machines would become 25% more valuable, need less floor space, need fewer machines, etc etc.. these are very important factors when one looks at the capacity of EOS, Arcam, etc to ramp up their numbers. It is entirely possible that Sigma is going to be doing this part production as a demonstration of PR3D to OEMs which have not participated with Sigma directly or through the various group efforts such as DARPA, AMERICA MAKES, EWI... or it could be just the start of a contract manufacturing business aspect which in and of itself could be successful - after all, that was the focus and business that Greg Morris was in before GE bought Morris Technologies..and look where he is now.

btw, yesterday I increased my SGLB holding by nearly 5% and will continue to add as I can.
