common_man, yeh plovers! .. when they nest on Australian golf courses ground staff draw circles about the nests to protect the eggs and/or the kiddies .. also, serves to protect golfers .. if your ball goes inside the circle you have to jump in and out again quickly to grab it, take the shot from outside the circle .. hell yeah, the plovers dive and turn at you as well as any Spitfire might ever have when you get too close to their nest, and they have spurs on the end of their wings .. it's good to read of the preservation/protection project, good luck to those involved in that .. to me the plovers



in NSW look smaller versions of the Australian ibis



which, if lucky, are seen wandering the streets about here .. saw a beauty the other day .. yeah, heh, Blaine, too, i know it well ..
