Re: That is true. But at the moment, when you go to the HP site and configure equivalently performing systems, the AMD system is cheaper. Sometimes significantly so. If you have two systems with the same features and about the same performance level from the same manufacturer, the cheaper of the two is going to usually win.
It's difficult for most shoppers to discern equivalent features or performance, which is why brand name plays into a lot of purchases. Intel's brand may have been suffering as of late because of their power and performance issues, but I'm hoping that changes when they start shipping Core based products.
