Medtronic, Inc…today announced that it intends to use approximately $16 billion in external financing to complete the acquisition of Covidien plc, rather than using cash from its foreign subsidiaries as previously planned. All terms and conditions of the definitive agreement reached between the two companies in June remain unchanged.
