I'm sure you've already thought of this,

but I installed 1/2" aluminum (vinyl available) mini blinds in my kitchen 23 years ago and they still look up to date based on comments I get. Mine are royal blue and are an exact match to the frame on a glass door that leads to the terrace and the frames on two bay windows each comprised uf three smaller windows. They raise up and down much smoother than the old style large metal blinds and have a three foot plexigas rod that hangs off to the far right which adjusts the angle of the blinds and is unnoticeable and out of the way. They also are customizable, but I doubt you'd need that.

I get sun on both sides at various times during the day and never have to fully close them to prevent direct sun on the interior while keeping the kitchen bright and not hindering my view of the bird feeders etc.

I bought mine at a blind store, but I feel fairly certain they would have been Levelors back then, but the web is chock full of choices.

Not a very representative pick, sorry, it's the only one I have. The blinds are pulled all the way up in the bay window and as you can barely spot a little more than half way up on the door with the blinds level so I can still see the feeders.
