Waitedg - I think this will be on a tear through the end of the year at least. It might fall back a bit in the short run though. Brazil iron shipments were down last month. It does appear though that China reserves are being depleted. Although their yoy growth is lower than previously expected, it is still rather healthy growth at more than 6%.

I read a report over the weekend that indicated China will shutter 125 mt of iron ore production this year. That is roughly 125 ships annual capacity. Considering the ship scrapping rate along with the overall improved commodity price and i believe that shipping rates will be on fire for some time to come.
