Would an 8-wk approval for Gild be considered a negative for Abbvie?

Not really; GILD has been saying all along that the approved duration will be 8 weeks for treatment-naïve non-cirrhotics—see, for instance, #msg-96802014.

Did you happen to know whether Abbvie has asked for both 8 and 12 wk regimen?

No; ABBV did not test 8-week regimens of the 3-DAA cocktail in phase-3, so there would be no basis in asking for an 8-week duration.
