Let us read VERY carefully Bush "it's wild speculation"(refering to Hersh article)
Remember we are dealing in both "top secret" and with a "master liar". Notice at NO time does he say, "no way it happens".
<<And Bush, his administration "on message' today, voiced the same objection during questions and answers after a speech on the war against terrorism at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies in Washington.

"It was just wild speculation,' Bush said today. "What you're reading is just wild speculation. It happens quite frequently here in the nation's capital.'

Bush conceded that he himself had elevated rhetoric about Iran when he identified Iran, Iraq and North Korea as three threats during his State of the Union address in 2002. But since then, he said today, other nations have joined the U.S. in attempting to avert the development of nuclear weaponry in Iran.

"I got out a little early on the issue by saying, ‘axis of evil,'' Bush said at Johns Hopkins. "But I meant it… I saw it as a problem,' he said of Iran's designs for nuclear power. "But now many others have come to the conclusion that Iran should not have a nuclear weapon.

"Our objective is to prevent them from having a nuclear weapon,' Bush said today. "It doesn't mean force necessarily.'

"We do not want Iran to have a nuclear weapon, the capacity to make a nuclear weapon or the knowledge to make a nuclear weapon… That's our stated goal,' Bush said. "It's also the goal of our friends and allies… They must give up their nuclear ambitions.

"One of the decisions I made early on was to have a multinational approach to sending a clear message to the Iranians,' said Bush, pointing to diplomatic efforts that have been led by Britain, Germany and France and also supported by Russia. e also included Russia in that. "I want to emphasize this point. We're not only making sure they don't have the means to develop a weapon, but the knowledge.

However, while calling news reports about U.S. plans for Iran a case of taking "normal military contingency planning' out of context, the White House spokesman today was not willing to publicly discuss any of that planning.>>
Most IMPORTANTLY i bring much of world press is denouncing validatt of Hersh article on the basis "it would be INSANE for Bush to take such action"
i refer back to the essay from the Quantum think tank and it's article on The Mask of Sanity.
I also remind my view of theimmense power of Cognitive Dissonance, in short the overwhelming majority will reject this possibilty because it would "f--- up' their life, therefore they REFUSE to think anyone would do this. They form their view on the inborn mechanism to refuse the bad alternative; and is NOT based on deep thought, it is surface thought.
Enuff said:) Max
p.s. quickly, what is Bush saying REALLY "Iran will NOT be allowed to proceed with their nuclear enrichment program.PERIOD. And we will utilize whatever option is NECCESSARY to make sure they cease and desist."(Iran will NOT back down---soooooooooooooooooooooooo whatever is whatever?)
Again, ENUFF said.:)
