Hi Zeev: I agree; a company that is losing money should not pay a dividend...unless of they've had a long history of doing so and have ample reserves to send out the checks to their stockholders. It's interesting, this dividend talk of late: The Street talks endlessly of earnings, but shares have little value other than dividends. Most of share prices are determined by gamblers, read: traders,investors and fund managers...and musical-chair players. Gimme a solid company, well capitalized and with cash, assets and receivables that pays a 5% dividend...and I'll buy the darn stock and hold it. And I'm usually in cash by 4:00 every day.
