fuagf -- could conceivably have to do with any application(s) other than your web browser that you have open/use in the meantime -- on my box, the TradeStation app I use to watch stocks/the markets has always had this knack for knocking out my sound -- not always, but when it does the sound tends to stay knocked out even after I've shut that app down, until I do a restart

and ultimately, it won't matter, at all, what we think of our creations or what they do/the consequences of what they do -- they will do what they decide to do -- that's the point
