remember the "magic" bullet that went through JFK's neck, connelly's torso, and connelly's wrist? that one left a lot of wounds. it happens.
Mercenary forensic expert Baden's interpretation was that one shot, probably the coup de gras, was a shot straight down from the top of his head that exited his face and went back in by the neck and may have finally exited again. to get that to be possible, he had to either be kneeling or bent over, or possibly down on the ground already.
Eyewitness accounts given the first day said he was shot in the back while fleeing. Given the autopsy results, it seems more like he was shot at and not hit while fleeing, he stopped, turned, surrendered, and was then riddled.
a telling clue was that there was no powder burns or stippling or any gunshot residue on him. that means he didn't fire a gun, and was at least several feet away from the shots that hit him. that means it was not from a close scuffle, it was a stand-off distance shooting. which kind of makes any self defense argument on the part of the cop kind of a lame defense. emptying his clip into the kid kind of puts it over the top as a clear case of major overkill to most any objective observer.
we will have to see if the cop ends up with an all-white jury in missouri. stranger things have happened.
