Silence is one of only four companies with an RNAi product in humans and one of six firms with access to an RNAi delivery system that has been tested in humans.
She notes that the sector has received more than $2 billion in equity investment in the last 18 months alone.
This resurgence in investor interest in RNAi has resulted in a 151% increase in the quoted subsector, compared with a 67% rise from the US biotech sector and a FTSE All-Share uptick of just 6%.
