I think we are into a solid company in time. Taking time to make sure the machines are working properly is a bonus in my book instead of spitting out an ineffective product. Especially with the technology that needs to be implemented to identify a valid buyer, it has to be on point. One the biggest complaints I have seen is about the actual efficiency of the machine dispensing because of the old style coils. I have worked with snack and soda vending machines and the biggest reason for a mis-dispensed item is because it is not properly stocked. The the distance between the coils are spaced to dispense specific types of product. If a bag of chips is put in a slot for a boxed item it may malfunction, and this mistake is all to common. Also, the weight of the items and the distance of the coils from the glass also plays into it. Yes, this is a design issue, but these are things I am sure they took into consideration IMO. This dispensing system is, and has been, used in vending machines for a long time for a reason. My guess is it is the most cost effective dispensing solution. I'm not sure why the wheel needs to be reinvented here. Tweaked maybe, but the driving factor leading to effectiveness is going to be the technology behind the identifation platform that is used, as well as integrating cashless solutions.
