He's been jawboning away and pumping liquidity the system alright.

I just am not seeing alot of pick-up in the real economy to support earnings. Combined with huge insider selling in tech shares, that tells me that alot of companies are going to be missing expectations come earnings seasons. Operational efficiencies have been mandated by the poor economy but most, if not all, of that work has already been done. I know of one very old-line consulting firm that specializes in operations which has been rumored to be in a very tight spot cash-wise.

I agree with what you are saying, but I keep hearing the haunting strains of "the markets can remain irrational longer than most can remain solvent" playing in the background.

In my view, the 'powers that be' contingent have several well focused and interlocking agendas, and I'm convinced that maintaining the status quo w/r to the 2005 Government's makeup is priority one.

Greenspan, a democrat, is going along with the master plan in a last ditch effort to redecorate his tarnished image.
