Howdy MWC. Was Dan Gable the heavy weight I was thinking about? I seem to remember the name associated with the Olympics. I suppose I should do a little internet research.

I know what you're saying about wrestlers being tough and strong. I remember the exercises the high school school wrestlers had to perform one of which was deep knee bends with someone of their weight class on their shoulders. EEK!

My friend with whom I enjoyed the Michigan meets had quite the reputation in the dorm. He was about 5'7 living on a floor with 6'2 plus beefy jocks. They used to amuse themselves by waiting for him to get off the elevator after class at which point it was two on one in a surprise "attack". He always bested them. Years later, one of the spoke in awe at the memory, "He was the strongest guy on the floor."

When I recounted the conversation to my friend, he laughed. His only comment was... "Leverage."

BTW, Michigan blew it in the NIT last night. I think they were down about 12 points at the half at which point, I stopped checking in. So it goes.
